Solving Problems Using Mental Strategies
Creating Addition and Subtraction Problems
Language: This week we will be starting Descriptive Writing. Students will write paragraphs using their senses to describe a topic.
Science: We continue to learn about Forces. Last week we explored magnetism through experiments. This week we will compare different forces and discuss what forces are "contact forces" and what forces are "non-contact forces".
Art: Stay tuned for some spooky art!
Religion: We will be talking about the Gospel Virtues.
Assessment Folders: Today in your child's school bag you should find a blue folder labelled "Assessment". I will try to send these home about once per month in order to keep you up to date about your child's progress. I encourage you to discuss any of the assessment items with your child if you wish. If you wish for corrections to be made at home, please do so on a separate sheet of paper. This is not necessary however.
After you have finished reviewing the assessment folder, please sign each item and place it back into the folder. Please return these folders as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress, please feel free to contact me and we can talk about it at any time.
Important Dates:
Tuesday October 29th - Progress Reports go home
Thursday October 31st - Halloween / Black and Orange Day
Tuesday November 5th - Parent Teacher Interviews
