Homework!
Unless otherwise noted, homework will be shared electronically on a weekly basis. It will be shared on Sunday or Monday and will be due each Friday. Each child will receive their email address, username and password on a small piece of paper which will be stapled into their agenda. To get to their homework page, have your child go to the St. Anne Website by clicking on the following link: St. Anne Website
Once they have clicked on the link, have them go to the "Student Portal". They can then go to the green, yellow and blue "Drive" button. From there, they will log in by entering their email address and password-username is not needed. It will be needed only if your child is asked for his/her student number. You will see a list of subjects. Have your child go to the "Homeroom" box. They can then go into the homework page to complete the given assignments. The assignments DO NOT have to be completed all at once. Your child can log in and out as many times as needed. Nothing needs to be "saved" or "sent" to me as I am able to see what they have done by going onto their page. If I would like something printed out and sent to me, I will note that on the homework sheet. For example, there may be math problems in which I would like to see your child's work and/or thinking process - how they solved the problem. This would be easier to do with a paper and pencil. In this case, I will ask that your child send their finished work to school.
The homework that will be sent home each week is a review of the different learning goals the children are/will be practising at school, and some concepts that we may not have a chance to practise. Therefore, it is important that homework is completed. If your child needs extra time to complete his/her homework or cannot do the homework on a given week, please let me know in advance. Thanks!
Please remind your child not to share his/her password with classmates or friends.
As well for homework, I am asking that your child reads for at least 20 minutes each night.
They will have a short spelling quiz on Fridays with the Word Wall Words that are on the homework sheet. The Word Wall Words will also be posted on this website under "Word Wall Words". Two or three number words will be added to the Word Wall Words, as one of the curriculum expectations for Grade Three Math is: "read and print in words, whole numbers to 100".
Thank you!
